3. Question: How do
I shut down or restart the system? Answer:
To shut down or restart the system do the
following:
1. Go to System
2. Go to Shutdown or Restart System 3. Click the corresponding button (Restart or
Shutdown) 4. You will be given a notification message that the
system will begin shutdown in 30 seconds.
Total shutdown time should be around 1-2 minutes
during average load.

Question: How do I increase the queue lifetime?
Note:
In order to configure DoubleCheck to 'store and
forward' you need to make sure the Queue Lifetime is
turned on and set to an appropriate value. By
default the DC unit will store mail for 48 hours but
this may need to be adjusted for longer downtimes. Answer:
To verify this is setup, do the following:
1. Log into the web interface using the admin login.
2. Click on SMTP at the top. 3. Click on SMTP General Settings in the menu.
4. You will see a line item called Queue Lifetime
under the Daemon Configuration heading.
This will
say 48 as the default value which means 48 hours.
Set this value to something different if you need
to.
5. Scroll down and click the Update SMTP
Configuration button. 6. You will be required to restart the SMTP daemon
by clicking the restart link in the orange box.

Question: How can I check to see if my anti-virus
definitions are current?
Answer: To look at the virus definitions and other critical
AV information do the following:
1. Log into the web interface with the admin login.
2. Go to Virus at the top. 3. Go to Scanner Configuration and Status
Here you will see the engine type, versions, and
definition information. This will include both the
anti-phish and the anti-virus engines. You have the
option to configure manual settings or manually
update the definition files if you would like.

Question: How do I restart a service?
Answer:
1. Go to System
2. Go to Service Manager 3. To stop a service, click stop or restart under
Functions for the corresponding service. 4. You will be given a notification if the service
restarted successfully.

Question: How do I view running processes? Answer:
1. Log into the web interface as the admin user
2. Click on System 3. Click on System Information
This will bring up a detailed information screen
that will have information such as the Operating
System banner message, system uptime, currently
logged in users, current memory statistics, and the
current processes on the unit.

Question: How can I see a real-time list of messages
passing through the DoubleCheck?
Answer:
1. Log into the web interface as the admin user.
2. Click on Logs at the top 3. Click on Quick Search
This will present you with a current list of the
messages that have passed through the system. This
will show the first 50 messages with the most recent
at the top. You will be able to see things such as
the Mail To, Mail From, Remote IP, Date/Time, and
Host Name of the sending address. You will also be
able to see how the message was scored. If you would
like to drill down further into a message, simply
click the details link.

Question: How do I set message size limits on
incoming messages? Answer:
In order to limit the size of incoming messages you
will need to enable the Message Size Limit in the
SMTP daemon. When someone sends a message to the
server they will receive a 551 error message stating
that the message size is too large. To enable message size limit, perform the following:
1. Log into the web interface using the admin login.
2. Click on SMTP at the top. 3. Click on SMTP General Settings in the menu.
4. Under the Daemon Configuration header you will
see a line item that reads Message Size Limit. The
default value for this is set to 0 which is
disabled. Change it to the size you wish to reject
mail. (in megabytes) 5. Scroll down and click the Update SMTP
Configuration button to update the settings. 6. You will be required to restart the SMTP daemon
by clicking restart in the orange box after the page
refreshes.

Question: How do I verify the current network
connectivity? Answer:
You will need to have them run a network check to
make sure all the required ports are opened up on
their firewall. To run this, do the following:
1. Log into the system as the admin user
2. Click on System at the top 3. Click on System Monitoring
4. Click on Current Network Connectivity
This will present you with a window that has several
services. Each service will try either an outbound
or inbound test (or combination of both) to test its
services. If it fails it will put a red circle in
the box, otherwise it will be green. If a service
needs to be opened you will see its designated port
under the port/protocol column.
